We had a fascinating time touring the new Suntado, LLC facility in Burley! The company is the brainchild of two long-time Magic Valley dairymen,
Dirk Reitsma and Jesus Hurtado.
Through using a higher pasteurization process, the milk can be stored for an extended shelf life of up to 120 days in a refrigerator, as opposed to just two to three weeks for normal milk.
In Collaboration with Suntado, Frontier Community Resources, and the Idaho Department of Commerce, the City of Burley was awarded a $460,000 RCIF grant to help upgrade the electrical power system that will serve Suntado's new shelf-stable, state-of-the-art, aseptic dairy packaging plant.
Rural Community Investment Funds (RCIF) help rural communities improve public infrastructure in support of economic expansion via job creation. Eligible activities include the construction or expansion of infrastructure or new construction and renovation of an industrial building owned by an eligible grantee that will be leased to a business.
Interested in learning more about RCIF funding? Call Frontier today.
