Calling all small towns with populations fewer than 50,000! The next round of the

T-Mobile Hometown Grant program is now open.

Brought to you in partnership with Main Street America and Smart Growth America, the T-Mobile Hometown Grant program provides grants of up to $50,000 to help build stronger, more prosperous small towns and rural communities!

Since the program's start, T-Mobile has given more than $6.6 million dollars to kickstart over 150 community development projects, including the latest winning recipients.

Towns with 50,000 people or less can apply for a grant of up to $50K to fund projects to build, rebuild, or refresh community spaces that help foster local connections in your community. For example, you could implement tech upgrades at your library, refresh a local park, or break ground on a new place where neighbors can connect.

Need more time to submit your application? The next round of funding opens April 1, 2023 with a deadline of June 30, 2023.

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) defines the term “Economic Development” as “Creating the conditions for economic growth and improved quality of life by expanding the capacity of individuals, businesses, and communities to maximize the use of their talents and skills to support innovation, job creation, and private investment.” As someone that has been in the industry sector for nearly two decades, I have learned that Economic Development in Southern Idaho doesn’t just happen on its own. It takes leadership, planning, collaboration, and the use of available resources.
Southern Idaho has experienced tremendous economic growth for many years and 2022 was no exception. Despite rising inflation and market uncertainty, the region’s economy has continued to flourish. That success is built upon strong leadership from our government leaders, effective business owners, and dedicated economic development professionals, like Frontier Community Resources, Inc.
Frontier had great success in 2022. Through our various loan programs, we were able to help many small businesses obtain financial capital to grow and expand their businesses. We were able to kick off our Brownfield Assessment and Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund programs. We were able to assist several communities across the region obtain financing to improve water systems, sewer systems, community parks, senior/community centers, and emergency responders to obtain additional equipment. We were able to bring the Rural Economic Development Services program back under Frontier Community Resources’s Management, which is a great program that helps strengthen our regional’s rural areas.
We are looking forward to an exciting and prosperous 2023. Please feel free to reach out to any member of the Frontier Team as we work together to achieve economic success this coming year!
-Jeff McCurdy
